Frequently Asked Questions

What is a LiFePO4 battery, and why is it better than a lead-acid battery?
LiFePO4 is one of the safest and most stable types of lithium battery. Compared with a lead-acid battery, it is significantly lighter and smaller, provides more usable energy in the same installation space, and allows you to use a much larger proportion of its capacity – without having to worry that deeper discharge will immediately damage it. It requires no maintenance, contains no liquid acid that needs topping up, and charges faster. Our products have a built-in BMS (Battery Management System) that monitors the cells and protects against overcharging, deep discharge and overcurrent. If you are unsure whether your current lead-acid battery can be replaced, contact us and we will review it together.
This depends on the vehicle, the load and how it is used, so there is no single figure that applies in every case. The values shown in the specifications of our golf cart batteries give a good indication of the typical range: up to 96 km with the 38.4V 105Ah model, up to 100 km with the 51.2V 105Ah model, and up to 120 km with the 51.2V 150Ah model on a single charge. The 76.8V 150Ah battery recommended for electric vehicles also has a measured range of up to 96 km. In practice, terrain, load, speed and temperature all affect the actual range. If you tell us what type of vehicle the battery is for and the daily distance you need to cover, we can help you choose the right capacity.
For home energy storage, yes: the 10 kWh, 51.2V 200Ah wall-mounted Curenta energy storage unit can be connected in parallel with up to 30 units, providing a total storage capacity of up to 300 kWh. This means you do not need to build a large system all at once — you can start with a single unit and expand later as your needs grow. For vehicle batteries, the connection always depends on the vehicle’s electrical system and control setup, so it is not advisable to generalise. In either case, we can review the specific configuration together: we also provide on-site assessments and can carry out the connection and installation.
IP67 means that the enclosure is completely dust-tight and can also withstand temporary immersion in water. In practice, this is important because batteries are rarely used under laboratory conditions: in golf carts, vans, minibuses or mounted on a garage wall, they may be exposed to dust, moisture and splashing water. Our products — from golf cart batteries to home energy storage systems — are built with IP67 protection, so under normal use there is no need to build an additional enclosure around them. This does not mean that they can be operated permanently underwater: the installation location should always be carefully considered, and we are happy to help with this as well.
